This was another dilemma. It looked like someone installed a thread-repair sleeve but used a little too much force. This pedestal or boss supports the pivot ball for the clutch fork, so it has to withstand a lot of force. I was afraid that the cracks might propagate, and that it would leak, so I had it fixed.
