In early 2016 I decided to get my engine's fan blades welded, as the 912 fans spin very fast and are known sometimes to come apart. At the same time, it seemed prudent to balance it, and this also seemed like a good time to do the alternator conversion I had long been contemplating. I used the kit from Zim's. It all went together in a straightforward manner, and I encountered no serious problems.
