Only conferences open to all researchers worldwide are listed here. In particular, DARPA conferences and other military symposia with classified sessions, or sessions open only to citizens of certain countries, are not listed. Conversely, we may list any other symposium of interest to RF and microwave engineers, even if they are not blessed by the IEEE or are commercially motivated. However, we'll warn you about such meetings when we think it's appropriate.
Virtually all conferences these days have web sites, which are the primary sources of conference information. If a conference has no web site, we provide appropriate contact information.
Predictably, we provide our usual irreverent commentary on many of the symposia. Note to the organizers of symposia we don't like: We're pretty easy to please, so if we don't like your show, no one else does, either. Deal with it.
Conferences Organizers: If you would like your conference listed here, please put us on your regular mailing list. We do not retain conference information from year to year, so we must be reminded each time the conference is given. Also, please send us the relevant information at least a few months beforehand. There is no point in listing it for only a couple of weeks.
9th International Workshop on Finite Elements for Microwave Engineering
May 8-9, 2008; Bonn, Germany
IEEE
International Conference on Microwaves, Antennas, Communications and Systems
(COMACS)
May 19-21, 2008; Wrocław,
IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems ISCAS 2007
May 18-21, 2008; Seattle, Washington, USA
IEEE MTT International Microwave Symposium
and RFIC
Symposium
June 15-20, 2008; Atlanta, Georgia, USA
Future Symposia:
This is the big tamale. Check out the official web site for the party line, then click here for the unofficial one, to find out how it all really works. Fairly late this year, which should help center it in the stinking-hot Georgia summer. In all honesty, there have been better locations, but, hey, this is the IMS! Just gotta go to it, no matter what the hardships. Just keep repeating your IMS mantra: At least it's not Fort Worth...at least it's not Fort Worth...
First Mediterranean Photonics Conference
June 25-28, 2008; Ischia, Napoli, Italy
July 5-11, 2008; San Diego, California, USA
If you are into this stuff, you know all about it; if you don't know about it, you almost certainly wouldn't care.
Eurpean Solid-State Circuits and Device Research Conferences, ESSCIRC and
ESSDERC
September 15-19, 2008; Edinburgh, Scotland, UK
19th
European Symposium on Reliability of Electron Devices, Failure Physics and
Analysis
September 29-October 2, 2008; Maastricht, The Netherlands
2008 IEEE Compound Semiconductor IC Symposium
October 12-15, 2008; Monterey, California, USA
October 27-31, 2008; Amsterdam, Netherlands
Loosely known as the European Microwave Conference, but by now it includes several other conferences in addition to the EUMC: the European Radar Conference (EuRAD), the European Microwave IC Conference (EuMIC) and the new European Wireless Technology Conference (EuWiT; formerly the European Conference on Wireless Technology, ECWT, which was obviously entirely different). This is by far the largest, most important microwave conference cluster after the MTT IMS, and it's always a lot of fun when held in Amsterdam.
International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation
October 27-30, 2008; Taipei, Taiwan
ESSDERC
- ESSCIRC 2008: European
Device Research and Solid State Circuits Conferences
September 15-19 2008; Edinburgh, UK
Great opportunity for a junket to Edinburgh, especially for you Ian Rankin fans. Like most solid-state circuits journals and conferences, tends to be a little lightweight. Still, lots of useful information and, especially, a chance to find out what solid-state geeks in Europe are thinking.
Integrated Nonlinear Microwave and mmW Circuits Conference INMMIC 2008
November 24-25, 2008; Malaga, Spain
This is a small, high-quality workshop covering all aspects of nonlinear circuit analysis and modeling. The location, on the Spanish Mediterranean coast in November, is indeed inspired.
