In September of 2011, we traveled to Dresden for a conference. We flew into Berlin, spent a couple days there, took the train to Dresden, and after the conference, made a quick tour through the Erzgebirge. It was a great opportunity to see parts of the former East Germany we had not previously seen, and to experience some very special areas.
