On Sunday, April 10, about 10 miles of roads through Los Angeles were closed to traffic and opened to cyclists, skaters, walkers joggers, flashers, street lunatics, and anyone else not in a motorized vehicle. I decided to join the fun, and indeed it was a great day. I started at the eastern end of the route, rode to the western, and returned. It was neat to see parts of LA that I just never visit, even though I ride through the city fairly often. It was great to do it without cars, too, although bicycle congestion can be almost as bad.
